Door chime rings when playing radio in Jeep Wrangler?

-Since I bought my 2011 jeep wrangler, I've always had a problem with keeping the car on but engine off and listening to the radio because the door chime dings every time i turn the music up to loud. is there a way i can fix this?In reference to rugrat's reply.



I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler, the ignition switch has three positions.

Off, you can pull the key out in this position.

Accessory position, which is one click forward from the off position.

Run position, turning it forward all the way until the Jeep starts.



Unlike a lot of vehicles I have owned, the 2011 Jeep Wrangler does not have an accessory position which is a turn backwards.

It sounds like you are turning the key forward into the on position to use the stereo instead of backwards into the accessory position. I'm not familiar with the 2011 Jeep but most cars have been this way for awhile. Try turning the key in the reverse direction and you should get stereo without the "ding, ding" as well as windows, sunroof, door locks and whatever other electric accessories it might have.
